Held to ransom

It’s ten years since the Road Haulage Industry blockaded oil refineries to complain about the price of diesel, and the whole country ran out of fuel.  At At War With The Motorist I ask what has been since then to reduce our dependence on private motorised transport and road haulage to reduce the effects were the industry to try to hold the country hostage again.  The answer is, not very much.  You can read the full answer here.

There’s also a short snark at the services that the British Government considers essential — alongside doctors and nurses, nuclear engineers, and public transport, is taxis.  Can’t have the politicians rubbing with the proles on buses.
